The
village of UBIARCO is located inside the boundaries of the Santillana del Mar Municipality,
half way on the road between Santillana del Mar and Suances. It is a beautiful coastal

BY CAR
From
Santander
you
must take the highway towards Torrelavega and then you can either take the Requejada
exit or go on towards Oviedo until you get to the Puente San Miguel exit. From Requejada,
you go on towards Barreda, where you turn right to take the CA-131 road to Santillana
del Mar. From Puente San Miguel, you take the CA-133 road to Santillana del Mar.
When in Santillana, take the CA-351 road linking Santillana and Suances.
From
Asturias
you
must get to Puente San Miguel by the N-634 road or the Cantabrian Highway. There
you must take the CA-133 road towards Santillana del Mar and then the CA-351 road
linking Santillana and Suances.
From
Madrid, Bilbao, Brugos, Palencia and Valladolid,
the
easiest thing is to get to Torrelavega and from there go to Santillana del Mar via
Barreda or Puente San Miguel and then take the CA-351 road linking Santillana and
Suances.

BY TRAIN
In
Santander, the RENFE (long-distance trains) and FEVE (commuter trains) stations are
the one right by the other. Besides, the Bus Stations is right in front of them,
distant only 100 m.

the journey between Santander and Puente San Miguel, via Torrelavega, takes about
40 min. The Puente San Miguel Station is 9 Km. distant from Ubiarco, and there is
a taxi rank right at the exit.

BY PLANE
The
Parayas Airport, the airport of Santander, is 42 Km. distant from Ubiarco. You can
take a taxi or a bus to Santander and there get off at the station´s stop.
From there you can take the train or the bus to get to Ubiarco.
The
Santander airport (tel. (+34) 942251004 / (+34) 942250612) is 5 min. distant from
the centre of the city, and has daily flights to and from Madrid and Barcelona. This
flights take from 40 to 60 min. There is usually a flight to and from Madrid in the
morning and another one in the afternoon. Consult your travel agency for more details.
In
September 2004 RYANAIR started to organize flights to and from the Parayas Airport.
This flights help to communicate Santander with the most important european capitals:
London, Rome and Frankfurt. And other flights are on mind: Edimburgh, Glasgow, Milan,
Brussels, Copenhagen...
In 2005, Iberia airlines have established new direct links between Santander and 6 important Spanish cities: Valencia, Alicante, Malaga, Palma, Seville and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

BY BOAT
Twice
a week a ferry connects Santander with Plymouth, in the UK. The trip takes 24 hours.
The Brittany Ferries Company phone number is (+34) 942 214500. On Tuesday, the ferry
arrives at 9:00 and leaves at 11:00, and on Thursday, arrives at 12:30 and leaves
